I've known Mohammad for over a decade, so when he told me he wanted to propose to Alyssa, I was beyond excited for him. However, he wanted it to be a surprise and I was more than happy to be there for him during this moment. Mohammad told her that this outing would be a simple walk in the park--nothing fancy--and just a way for them to spend additional time together. Colonial Park in Somerset, New Jersey, was the one location that Mohammad had set his mind on. I couldn't have chosen a better place to compliment Alyssa & Mohammad's personalities while providing an upbeat yet romantic energy. It's hard to explain in words; it's more of a special feeling that only came about due to their chemistry with each other in this environment.
I'm so glad he suggested Colonial Park, specifically Rudolf W. van der Goot Rose Garden. These gardens are magical in the fall/autumn, and I highly recommend visiting them. Even if you don't have any cameras, Rudolf W. van der Goot Rose Garden is one of the best intimate first-date locations I've ever encountered. The shade of the large trees was a great resting point while also serving as a romantic background for our images. These qualities helped create a beautifully vibrant and energetic ambiance for their final gallery.
Rudolf W. van der Goot Rose Garden is the best, most beautiful location in Colonial Park and is an underrated (hidden) gem of Northern New Jersey. The vibrant flora, the fantastic resting points, and even the garden's scents all make for a rich and dreamy experience, which becomes alluringly romantic when you bring your significant other.
A lot of work went into planning this shoot, and when it came together, everything went perfectly according to plan. This session was remarkable, and I would love to return here again!
